Covenant Woods in Mechanicsville, VA is proud to announce that we have once again received a five-year accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), our fourth consecutive term. This recognition continues to place our senior living community among an elite group of retirement communities nationwide, with less than 10% of all Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRCs) achieving CARF accreditation.
What makes this year’s achievement even more meaningful is the addition of a second designation: Person-Centered Long-Term Care Community. This new accreditation reflects our unwavering commitment to delivering personalized, dignified care that honors the choices, needs, and life stories of each individual we serve.
“This year is the first time we sought an additional accreditation for Person-Centered Long-Term Care Community—a true testament to our dedication and excellence in serving residents every day! I am very proud of our collective accomplishment!” — Thom Wright, President and CEO.
As a Life Plan Community, Covenant Woods offers a full continuum of care. These dual accreditations validate the strength of our services, the integrity of our practices, and our dedication to innovation and continuous improvement. CARF accreditation remains the gold standard in the industry, developed over five decades by providers, family members, and experts in the field.
The Person-Centered Long-Term Care designation specifically recognizes communities that foster autonomy, support meaningful relationships, and create environments where residents are empowered to shape their own daily experiences. At our senior living community in Mechanicsville, residents are not only cared for—they are truly heard and respected.
These accomplishments reflect our shared commitment to exceptional care, and we look forward to continuing to set the standard for senior living in Virginia and beyond.
