Memory Support: Grace Gardens
When Alzheimer’s or another illness impairs memory, there is comfort in having a safe, secure place in which to live. Grace Gardens at Covenant Woods offers a secure environment designed for those individuals who have dementia or other related diseases. Residents of Grace Gardens are provided all the assistance available in Assisted Living as well as additional recreational therapy and planned programming targeted to their unique needed.
The Grace Gardens suites are similar to those in our Assisted Living neighborhoods, while other environmental steps were taken to create a supportive atmosphere. An enclosed courtyard provides outdoor space for walks and gardening, and a glassed sunroom, and family style dining and living rooms offer a home like setting for sitting and chatting with friends.
Residents receive assistance as needed in dressing and personal hygiene as well as assistance in attending meals. Housekeeping services and/or assistance is provided as needed. In Grace Gardens, a licensed nurse administers medication and there are scheduled therapeutic activities designed for the memory impaired. Grace Gardens has twenty-four hour nursing coverage and all direct care staff are trained specifically in caring for people that are memory impaired.
