The following events are open to the public. Included are events in which Covenant Woods participates but which are held at other locations. Call Covenant Woods at 804.569.8000 for event reservations. Please note that all dates are subject to change. Please call ahead before attending events.

The Fairfield Presbyterian Church Handbell choir invites you to an evening of Seasonal music from the majestic choruses of Handel’s Messiah to timeless Christmas tunes.

The Whitlocks, Callie, age 14, Eddie, age 13, and Ellie, age 11, have been performing together for five years. Their shows feature energetic choreography and beautiful three-part harmony arrangements of popular, patriotic & Christian music. They perform regularly at special events, churches, sports events, corporate events and parties. The Whitlocks recently performed at the Palladium in Hollywood! You do not want to miss this wonderful holiday performance!

Pianist, Don Irwin in Concert. Back by popular demand, this is a holiday concert you do not want to miss! Don travels around the country bringing his music and stories to people of all ages. CD’s available for purchase (cash or check accepted).

“It’s a Wonderful Life” presented by the Barksdale Theater Bifocals group. Take a trip back in time to the golden age of radio dramas when you take a seat in the audience of this live taping of one of the greatest radio performances of all time. Complete with hilarious dialogue and live sound effects, you’ll soon find that this lost art form was never really lost. Bask in the glory of a time that is near and dear to everyone’s heart.

“God and the Movies”
Presented by Pastor Mark England from Epiphany Evangelical Lutheran Church. From the beginning of cinema, the life of Jesus has been portrayed in film. Directors from Cecil B. DeMille to Martin Scorsese have cast their own image of Christ on the silver screen. Movies about the life of Jesus have generated controversy as much as they have deepened faith. We hope our look at Jesus Christ, movie star, will generate healthy discussion.

Arthritis Health Lecture
Presented by Dr. Corey Bryant from deBarros Chiropractic Clinic. As a public service, Dr. Bryant will present a 30 minute informational talk on Arthritis: causes, prevention, pain relief, exercises and rehabilitation that can help you. He will hold a question and answer session after his talk.

“All You Ever Wanted to Know About the Bagpipe!”
Presented by Dr. Owen Brodie. In this engaging program, Dr. Brodie alternates between playing and giving the history of the Great Highland pipes, as well as telling stories and jokes. At the end of the program, he will take his pipes apart and explain how they work. He welcomes his guests to bring earplugs! Sarah Elizabeth Smith, Jean Pauli’s granddaughter, will play a short conclusion to his program.

“Music of Europe”
Presented by European Wind Ensemble of Richmond, Inc. The 25 piece European Wind Ensemble is a community band made up of qualified volunteer musicians from the Richmond area. They provide music from European countries similar to a local town band in Germany. Under the Direction of Eric Hayslett, the group will play music both serious and fun, mostly from Germany, Austria, France, Poland and Italy. Please arrive early, seating will be limited.
